Envirocoustics S. A. (Greece)
Envirocoustics S.A. is a Non-Destructive Testing company founded in April 1996. The company is certified according to ISO 9001:2000, and is committed to quality and safety. A high-tech laboratory (also certified according to ISO 9001:2000), including state-of-the art laboratory equipment (vacuum furnace, temperature/climate controlled room, oscilloscopes and wave generators) as well as NDT equipment (automated and manual ultrasonic systems, acoustic emission and eddy current systems) is available and in use by the highly experienced personnel. The scope of activities of Envirocoustics is:
- Performing field testing and consultation services for the petrochemical, power generation, aerospace, and infrastructure industries, using its vast experience and state-of-the-art equipment in a multitude of applications.
- Research leading to the design, manufacturing and selling of innovative products such as Acoustic Emission (AE) sensors, Acoustic Emission/Ultrasonic/Eddy Current instruments.
- Software production and development.
- R&D of NDT applications and procedures in new areas of application, promoting safety and quality.
The R&D Department has been particularly active during the last 10 years, in the field of NDT research, as it has fulfilled several industrial, national and EU funded projects.
Role in the project
Envirocoustics will lead the development of the acoustic emission module of the on-line system (Task B2). It will also contribute to the development of the intelligent control unit and associated software (Task B5). Envirocoustics will assist in the development ultrasonic phased array technique and associated control system and software (Tasks C1, C3, C4). Envirocoustics will also be heavily involved in the overall integration, validation and drafting of training procedures for the on-line and UT-ACFM systems. It will also contribute in the exploitation and dissemination of the project's results.
Reason for participating
The immediate benefit expected for Envirocoustics, resulting from the SAFERAIL project, is the gain of technology know-how in the main field of its activities i.e. field service and NDT. In addition to that, the project will permit the expansion of its experience in the transportation industry. Finally, the new integrated signal analysis techniques that will be developed together with the software, will form a strong background for implementing these techniques in its inspection services, and will enhance its state of the art capabilities in software development.
